Liars - live on tour in Italy and up to finish new work in Berlin

Announced directly by guitarist Aaron Hemphill on the band's web pages, they will be back on tour in Italy next February. Dates are:
2/15 - Torino
2/16 - Roma
2/17 - Sarzana
2/18 - Bologna
2/19 - Verona
After these shows they will be in Berlin (Germany) to finish up thier new record.


They are Liars: name was never so appropriate for a band that surprises for its continuous change of musical direction, only following the limits of their own imagination. Early associated with new post punk/funk scene with its first work "They threw us all in a trench and stuck a monument on top", the tall Angus Andrew's band quickly moved away from that etiquette towards a more personal melt of genres, sounds, attitudes. Just like in a radioactive reaction, when an istable nucleus of an element decays into a different isotope of the same element or into a different element, with energy or partcles emissions, so Liars's sound achieves an updating of the fears and the anxieties and the alienations that were proper of past decades sounds. Almost a reincarnation. And their alternations of 4/4 and odd tempos, their accelerations or obsessive loops, describe the schizophrenic best fit curve of post-industrial society in current lifetimes.
Definitively you can't catch their music in a definition or with a comparison (Pop Group, Sonic Youth and others) , because it slips away, but surely you could better call it "pre" instead of "post"!
